CEI Senior Inspector
Location: Marianna, FL
Job Type: 40 hrs/week, 8hrs/day
Start Date: July 1st, 2024
Pay: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour (Travel Expenses Covered)

Requirements:

High School Graduate
Plus minimum of 4 years of DOT roadway and/or bridge construction experience. -
Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.

Position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime (Hourly).
Description
Inovia Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Inspector in Marianna, Florida to join our growing CEI team. As a CEI Senior Inspector, you will be responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests. You will also be responsible for coordinating and managing the lower-level inspectors. Work will be performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator. The successful candidate can expect promotion to senior roles (CSS, PA) when proper experience and time on the job is achieved.
Typical assignments may include, but are not limited to the following:

Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)

Responsible for familiarity with the Department’s Procedures covering the project related duties as stated above and proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform those duties.

Responsible for exercising independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to field aspects of the project.

Responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.

Cooperate with supervisors, contractors, subordinates, and the Department in the performance of duties.

Responsible for directing, managing, training, and mentoring the junior-level inspectors.

Perform and review material testing of construction materials.
-
Confirm materials adhere to specifications.
-
Inspect and verify construction work in process to ensure compliance.
-
Resolve quantity differences with contractor and ensure plan and contract conformance.
-
Responsible for performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.

Description
Inovia Consulting Group is seeking an Inspector Aide in Marianna, Florida to join our growing CEI team. This role is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) construction projects under the supervision of the Senior Inspector. As a CEI Inspector Aide, you will monitor the contractor’s on-site construction activities and inspect materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be honest, and dependable. The successful candidate will gain experience and training in many different aspects of construction inspection and can expect promotion to senior roles when proper experience and time on the job is achieved. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent high school graduate looking for experience in the construction field.
Typical assignments may include, but are not limited to the following:

Check and field verify the accuracy of dimensions.

Examine the workmanship of finished FDOT Construction Projects

Read and understand plans and specifications related to construction.

Measure and record quantities of materials received or used during specific periods.

Maintain daily records as directed by the supervisor.

Perform pickup and delivery of job-related items.
-
Read, understand, and implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures
-
Properly use equipment and supplies and maintain equipment in operational condition.

Assist higher-level inspectors.
